Quantitative Intramyocardial M-Mode DTI Analysis

چکیده
A quantification methodology is proposed for the analysis of DTI M-mode images. After an enhancement stage, the cardiac wall is divided into several layers from which time curves and parameters are computed. A clinical study has been carried out, comparing normal and ischemic patients, in order to characterise the most relevant parameters that assess the intramyocardial left ventricle function. Results show that cross correlation and Fourier analysis may constitute a sensitive test for intramyocardial dysfunction during ischemia.

Age-related intramyocardial patterns in healthy subjects evaluated with Doppler tissue imaging.
BACKGROUND The aim of this study is to analyse spatial distribution of myocardial velocities (MV) and myocardial velocity gradient (MVG) with color M-mode Doppler tissue imaging (DTI) and to analyse the influence of age in such parameters. METHODS AND RESULTS A prospective study including 66 healthy volunteers was carried out with color M-mode DTI. Postprocessing of images was performed using...
متن کاملIntramyocardial analysis of regional systolic and diastolic function in ischemic heart disease with Doppler tissue imaging: role of the different myocardial layers.
BACKGROUND Preliminary experimental data have shown a nonuniform distribution of myocardial velocities (MVs) across the myocardial wall in normal conditions. However, after ischemic damage to the myocardium, a different pattern of reduction in the myocardial layers has been reported. The aim of this study is to analyze the spatial distribution of MVs and the resultant myocardial velocity gradie...
متن کاملProgression of microstructural damage in spinocerebellar ataxia type 2: a longitudinal DTI study.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The ability of DTI to track the progression of microstructural damage in patients with inherited ataxias has not been explored so far. We performed a longitudinal DTI study in patients with spinocerebellar ataxia type 2. MATERIALS AND METHODS Ten patients with spinocerebellar ataxia type 2 and 16 healthy age-matched controls were examined twice with DTI (mean time betwe...
متن کاملA decade of DTI in traumatic brain injury: 10 years and 100 articles later.
SUMMARY The past decade has seen an increase in the number of articles reporting the use of DTI to detect brain abnormalities in patients with traumatic brain injury. DTI is well-suited to the interrogation of white matter microstructure, the most important location of pathology in TBI. Additionally, studies in animal models have demonstrated the correlation of DTI findings and TBI pathology. O...
متن کاملDefining an Analytic Framework to Evaluate Quantitative MRI Markers of Traumatic Axonal Injury: Preliminary Results in a Mouse Closed Head Injury Model
Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) is a hallmark of traumatic brain injury (TBI) pathology. Recently, the Closed Head Injury Model of Engineered Rotational Acceleration (CHIMERA) was developed to generate an experimental model of DAI in a mouse. The characterization of DAI using diffusion tensor magnetic resonance imaging (MRI; diffusion tensor imaging, DTI) may provide a useful set of outcome measure...
